Whistler Health Care Foundation Announces $100,000 in Funding for WCSS Outreach Programs.

Whistler, British Columbia – The Whistler Health Care Foundation (WHCF) is proud to announce a two-year, $100,000 commitment to support Outreach Programs at Whistler Community Services Society (WCSS). The funding – distributed as $50,000 per year for the next 2 years – will strengthen WCSS’s ability to meet the growing demand for mental health and social support
services in the Whistler community.

Over the past several years, demand for WCSS outreach programming has grown dramatically as more residents seek help with mental health challenges, housing insecurity, and financial pressures. This new funding will help sustain essential outreach and counselling programs that are often a lifeline for community members in need.

The funds come from proceeds raised during the 2024 Hike for Health, an annual WHCF event that prioritized mental health initiatives.

“We wanted to ensure these funds go where they can make the greatest immediate impact,” said Jen Black, Vice Chair of the Whistler Health Care foundation and Chair of the Hike for Health Fundraising Committee. “We’re thrilled to be able to support WCSS and the incredible work they do to assist individuals and families navigating mental health challenges in our community.“

On behalf of WCSS, we are incredibly grateful and honoured to be selected as the recipient of this multi-year funding,” said Jackie Dickinson, Executive Director of the Whistler Community Services Society. “These funds will help us ensure accessible services, strengthen mental health programming, and provide ongoing support and wraparound care for individuals in need. We remain committed to being an open door – offering a warm cup of coffee, a caring conversation, and a trusted network to help community members navigate well-being services within WCSS and beyond.”

Whistler Health Care Foundation continues to raise funds to address critical health-related needs in the community. To learn more, donate, or stay informed about current funding priorities visit www.whistlerhealthcarefoundation.org or follow @whistlerheallthcarefoundation on Facebook or Instagram.
