To assist Whistler in becoming a role model for physical and mental health care in a resort community.

Mission

Advocating for, and financially assisting in, the provision of health-care services, facilities and equipment within the Sea to Sky corridor to benefit the residents of, and visitors to, Whistler.

OUR HISTORY

The Whistler Health Care Foundation is a non-profit society established in 1994.

It was originally founded to manage $250,000 in surplus fundraising dollars after a successful campaign for the Whistler Health Care Centre in 1994. The Foundation’s initial mandate was to raise additional funds to support the Whistler Health Care Centre. As such, the Foundation began to build on its established donor base to organize fundraising events and access grants to reach annual goals to supplement capital funds provided by various levels of government.

Over time the Foundation’s mandate was revised to include all of Whistler, as well as other health-care related facilities, groups and services in the Sea to Sky corridor that benefit residents and visitors to Whistler.

The Foundation collaborates closely with staff at Whistler Health Care Centre, community physicians, local government and with appropriate representatives of the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, the primary administrative organization for health care in our area

Our Board

The Whistler Health Care Foundation is a volunteer board with representatives from the community, council, and Whistler Health Care Centre. Part-time staff support our activities. Each and every one of them brings a unique set of skills and expertise to our organization.
