Whistler, British Columbia – The Whistler Health Care Foundation (WHCF) is pleased to announce that thanks to a $100,000 donation from the Rockowitz Family, the WHCF has reached its fundraising goal for upgrades to the trauma rooms at the Whistler Health Care Centre.
“On behalf of the Whistler Health Care Foundation, we would like to thank the Rockowitz Family for their generous donation,” says Sandra Cameron, Chair of the WHCF. “Their donation combined with the overwhelming support from the community has put us over the top. We can now move forward with modernizing the Whistler Health Care Centre trauma rooms”.
“I’m very happy to help and support the Trauma Room Upgrade Project. It’s a very important project for the Whistler community. My family and I have been associated with and have had a deep love for Whistler over the last 30 years. Congratulations to those who contributed to this amazing project,” says Bruce Rockowitz.
Construction to the 25-year-old trauma rooms is scheduled to begin in Spring 2021 and will bring state of the art equipment and technology to the outdated rooms. The renovation will increase the usable space and significantly improve the functionality. These improvements will ensure that the Whistler Health Care Centre’s most critical patients continue to receive the highest quality of care.
